Blue Frills Stokes’ Aster is a compact native evergreen perennial with green foliage that forms a basal rosette. Fluffy cornflower-like light purple flowers with white centers bloom on erect leafy stems from summer into fall. Grows best with full sun and well-drained soils. Deadheading individual spent flowers and spent stems can encourage additional blooms. Good drought and heat tolerance.
Stokesia laevis are a native host plant for several moths and butterflies, notably the Swallowtail Butterfly.
