East Friesland Meadow Sage is a compact upright herbaceous perennial with aromatic grey-green foliage. Tall purple spikes holding small intensely violet two-lipped flowers bloom in late spring through summer and can continue into fall if deadheaded.  Flowers best in full sun and moist well-drained soils.  Drought tolerant.
