Yakushimanum Pieris is a slow-growing dwarf evergreen shrub with a tight habit and small leathery deep green foliage. Dense clusters of drooping clear white bell-flowers bloom in spring. Best bloom in part sun with slightly acidic and moist well-drained soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: High Maintenance. Water regularly. Remove spent flowers immediately. Lace bug infections can be a serious problem. Watch for scale, mites, and nematodes. Dieback and leaf spots are occasional problems.
