Black Bamboo is a giant fast-growing evergreen ornamental grass with a thick hollow stem that turns black in their second season that contrasts against the fine light green foliage.  Prefers part sun with moist well-drained soils. Black Bamboo spreads with runners - plant in a contained area to prevent it from becoming invasive.
