Canaertii Red Cedar is a compact female coniferous tree with a narrow pyramidal form with ascending branches. The dark green aromatic foliage is needle-like and matures to scale-like. Canaertii Red Cedar produces heavy amounts of very ornamental fleshy blue-black seed cones with a whitish bloom. Best planted in full sun and well-drained soils. Drought Tolerant once established.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Junipers are generally susceptible to blights, especially in unusually wet weather. Rust and canker may occur, though it is not serious. Potential pests include aphids, bagworms, webworms, and scale.
