Rebecca Clematis is a compact deciduous climbing perennial vine with light green foliage that flowers in two waves.  The huge velvet red flowers (or purple tones with shade) with creamy yellow anthers have their first bloom wave in late spring to summer.  Deadhead to encourage the second wave in late summer to fall.  Prefers full sun and moist well-drained soil.  Needs support.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  Susceptible to wilt and stem rot, which can be fatal.  Other potential diseases include powdery mildew, leaf spots, and rust. Potential insect pests include aphids, vine weevils, slugs/snails, scale and earwigs. Watch for spider mites. If possible, plant the roots in the area with afternoon shade and climb the foliage into full sun for best results.
