Chinese Evergreen is a tropical evergreen perennial with thick dark green lance-shaped foliage with attractive silver-grey splotching commonly used as a houseplant.  It rarely flowers as a houseplant, but if it does the creamy white spadix is enclosed by a pale green spathe in late summer or early fall.  Grows best with good indirect sun and consistently moist well-drained soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Common pests for houseplants include mites, scale, leafspots, and mealybugs.  Plant may scorch if soil dries in a drafty area.  Root rot, leaf spot, and blight may occur.

HOLIDAY CONTAINER CARE: Place containers in a moderately lit room.  Because the decorative containers do not have drainage holes, only a light watering once a week is necessary.  If you think you have overwatered, tilt the container into the sink to drain any excess water.  Containers will last 6-8 weeks with proper care.

It is recommended to repot each plant in its own container 6-8 weeks after receiving your container.  This ensures each plant the longest and healthiest life possible!

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, BordersRock Gardens, Houseplant, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS: Laceleaf, Peace Lily, Amaryllis
