Fruitlandii Elaeagnus is an irregular mounding evergreen shrub with broad wavy-margined foliage that emerges silver matures to olive green with silver undersides surrounding the tubular branches with small spikes. The clusters of tiny cream white bell-shaped flowers bloom that in fall are not showy but extremely fragrant and are followed by red berries. Best color when grown in full sun and loamy well-drained soils. Elaeagnus is drought tolerant once established and ignored by deer.
