Jacob's Ladder is a compact shade-loving perennial with a uniform clumping habit and dense glossy green fern-like foliage that stays close to the ground.  Its upright flowering stems sporting clusters of fragrant lilac purple flowers bloom through summer.  Best color in part shade and rich, evenly moist well-drained soils.
