Pleasant Peasant Bearded Iris is a bulb-less semi-evergreen perennial that spreads by rhizomes and long sword-like foliage that fans upwards. The sturdy central stock boasts spicy-scented ruffled golden yellow flowers with soft orange beards that bloom first from late spring into summer and again in late summer into fall. Prefers partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Water regularly, then occasionally once established. Can cut back any dying foliage after flowering. Do not mulch over the rhizomes, as it increases the chances of major issues such as soft root, crown rot, and leaf spot. Watch for molting and remove any affected leaves. Avoid overcrowding and too much shade to lessen the chance of these issues.
