Oddity Hens and Chicks is a mat-forming evergreen succulent with unusual thick tubular foliage with burgundy tips that grow in rosettes. The mother Rosset(hen) spreads out with horizontal stems to seed offsets (chicks). In summer a tall stalk rises from the hen sporting clusters of pink flowers. The hen dies after flowering, giving space for the chicks to grow. Best color with full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils. Drought and heat tolerant once established.
