Japanese Roof Iris is a tall deciduous perennial with long, sword-like foliage that fans from the base and large, bright purple beardless flowers with white crests in spring attracting bees. Grows best in rich, well-drained acidic soils. Drought, deer, and wet soil tolerant once established.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Susceptible to viruses and plants with infected leaves should be removed immediately. Slugs and snails can cause significant damage. Mulch in winter.
