Cherokee Purple Tomato is a heirloom variety tomato notable for its resistance to disease and with a heavy production of large brick red fruits that can grow as big as 5". The fruit has a slightly smoky flavor with a hint of sweetness and less acidity. Best grown in full sun and rich, moist, acidic well-drained soils. Cherokee Purple is early flowering and will produce flushes quickly, but are slow to ripen and the fruit shoulders will remain green when fully ripe.
