Lovely drooping violet flowers are followed by small slender lavender fruits with white marbling in summer and sweet flavor. The production is so heavy it is best to stake the plant. MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Keep soils moist. Susceptible to wilt. Hornworms, beetles, and cutworms can be an issue. Eggplants are very sensitive to cold so do not transplant until the soil temperatures at night are consistently above 65F. Cut with a knife to harvest to prevent damage.
