Flame Blue Garden Phlox is a native compact perennial with excellent branching and stiff stems covered with dark green lance-shaped foliage. Dark blue buds open to large fragrant white pinwheel flowers with lavender-blue flares and bloom from mid summer into fall. Best flowering in full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soils. Flame Blue has good resistance to powdery mildew.
Phlox paniculata provides nectar to butterflies, skippers, Sphinx and Hummingbird moths, and hummingbirds.
