True Blue Gentian is a mat-forming evergreen perennial with smooth emerald green foliage and well branching upright stems. Small upward facing true sapphire blue flowers bloom along the nodes of the stems from mid summer into fall. Flowers best in full sun and moist, well-drained gravelly soils. Needs afternoon shade south of zone 7 to prevent leaf damage
