Big Blue Salvia is a compact upright clumping herbaceous annual with full light green foliage. Tall dark purple spikes with matching calyxes sporting small dark blue two-lipped flowers bloom from midsummer until frost attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. Flowers best in full sun and moist well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established. Big Blue has improved shade tolerance and is self cleaning.
