Romaine Lettuce is an edible cold-season annual that forms an upright rosette ofelongated dark green edible foliage. The crisp and savory leaves hold their flavor long after harvest.  Grows best in partial sun and fertile well-drained soils. Romaine is slow to bolt and is very heat resistant.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low maintenance plant.  No serious pests or diseases.  Dry soil can trigger bolting. Potential disease problems include downy mildew, powdery mildew, shot hole, bottom rot, septoria leaf spot, Botrytis and wilt. Potential insect pests include aphids, snails, slugs, leafminers and whiteflies. Mosiac virus may appear.
