Crystal Pink Ornamental Kale is a cool season annual with heavily ruffled and fringed basal foliage. The outer leaves are a very dark green tinged highlighted by the clear pink inner color that holds through winter and becomes more vivid as temperature drops. Best if grown in rich, consistently moist well-drained loamy soils. This is not an edible variety.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. A cool seasonal plant best grown in spring or fall. Potential insect problems include cabbageworms, cabbage loopers, flea beetles, caterpillars, thrips, slugs and aphids. Root maggots may be a problem in some areas. Watch for leaf spots, blackleg, black rot and yellows.
