Sunjoy Gold Pillar Barberry is an upright deciduous shrub valued for its tidy vibrant foliage that grows full to the ground. The small leaves emerge bright red and turn a bright golden yellow as it matures and returns to orange-red for fall. Unnoticeable tiny yellow flowers bloom in fall that gives way to small amounts of fruit. Best color in full sun and well-drained soils. Drought and deer resistant. Asexual propagation is prohibited. Gold Pillar has proven sun resistance and is very deer resistant.
