Buttercrunch Lettuce is an edible cold-season leafy annual herb that forms a rosette of soft, lightly crumpled bright green leaves with a creamy yellow inside. The leaves have a supple crunch and melting texture with a mildly sweet but rich 'buttery' flavor. Grows best in partial sun and fertile well-drained soils. Buttercrunch is frost tolerant and has improved resistance to heat and thus less likely to bolt in summer.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance plant. No serious pests or diseases. Dry soil can trigger bolting. Potential disease problems include downy mildew, powdery mildew, shot hole, bottom rot, septoria leaf spot, Botrytis and wilt. Potential insect pests include aphids, snails, slugs, leafminers and whiteflies. Mosiac virus may appear.
