Jefferson Hazelnut is a multi-trunked compact deciduous tree with an upright spreading canopy and a late season pollinizer. The nuts have large excellent quality kernels that have a sweet buttery flavor. The showy red male flowers bloom on catkins in late winter into spring before the leaves come in. Grows best in rich, moist, well-drained soils. Jefferson can produce 25+lbs of nuts and has improved disease resistance.
