Red Oak Leaf Lettuce is an edible cold-season leafy annual herb that forms a rosette of oak shaped leaves with warm burgundy red staining.  These incredibly mellow, yet sweet and nutty leaves have a supple 'buttery' texture.  Grows best in partial sun and fertile well-drained soils.  Red Oak Leaf is resistant to Downy Mildew, Lettuce Drop, and Tip Burn.

Potential disease problems include downy mildew, powdery mildew, shot hole, bottom rot, septoria leaf spot, Botrytis and wilt. Potential insect pests include aphids, snails, slugs, leafminers and whiteflies. Mosiac virus may appear.
