Adam’s Needle is a nearly stemless evergreen shrub with large slightly arching sword-like foliage and long curly white strings that can be found at the leaf margins. A cental stalk rises in summer bearing long panicles of fragrant creamy-white flowers.  Best color with full sun and well-drained soils. Surprisingly tolerate of partial shade.  Heat and drought tolerant.

Yucca filamentosa is a southeastern native that hosts the Yucca Giant-Skipper and the Cofaqui Giant Skipper butterflies.  The nectar provides for hummingbirds and other moths and butterflies, while the berries are eaten by small mammals.
