Reifler’s Dwarf Viburnum is a compact mounding multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with dense branching and very small ovate dark green leaves with purple tints in fall. Tiny dome-clusters of white flowers bloom in spring and give way to blue-black berries in fall. Flowers best with full sun and moist, lightly acidic well-drained soils. The wood on Riefler’s Heat has a rank odor but is heat tolerant, and drought tolerant once established. Foliage is evergreen in the South but needs afternoon shade there.
