Purple Parasols Aster is a compact evergreen native perennial with smooth unbranched foliage that forms a basal rosette and color-shifting flowers.  The small frilled flowers open light blue and slowly deepen to purple, to reddish purple, to finally hot pink and bloom from midsummer into fall.  Grows best with full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils.  Good drought and heat tolerance.
