Lizard’s Tail is an erect branching native marginal aquatic perennial noted for its dark green heart-shaped leaves tiny fragrant white flowers packed on its drooping slender racmen in summer to frost.  Following the flowers are small warty green fruits that are said to resemble lizard tails. Flowers best in full sun and wet soils.  The leaves, flowers, and roots are pleasantly scented.
