Higan Flowering Cherry is an upright deciduous tree with a symmetrical rounded crown and bark with prominent horizontal stripes. The simple green leaves turn yellow in fall. A heavy bloom of the non-fragrant pink double flowers occurs in spring with another sparse bloom in fall. Flowers best in full sun and rich moist well-drained soils. Higan has good disease resistance.
