Green Gable Black Gum is a slow-growing pyramidal deciduous tree that is native to the south east. The lightly toothed shiny dark green foliage turns brilliant orange and reds in fall. Though dioecious there are often perfect flowers as well, which are clusters a small non-showy greenish-white. Excellent source of nectar for pollinators. Flowers give way to blue-black berries in fall. Best grown in part sun and well-drained soils.
