Moonglow Sweet Bay Magnolia is a narrow semi-evergreen tree with heavy blooms large fragrant cup shaped white flowers in summer. The rippled leathery leaves are a glossy dark green year round with brown undersides. Best color in full sun and moist, slightly-acidic, well-drained soil.
Magnolia virginiana is a host plant for the Tiger, Spicebush, and Palamedes Swallowtail butterflies as well as the Sweetbay Silkmoth. The seeds, sap, and nectar of attracts pollinators and small mammals as well.
