Dodd's Variegated Leucothoe is a colorful native evergreen shrub with a lax, arching multi-stemmed habit.  Its rich glossy foliage emerges pink and matures molted and specked with creamy white and green before turning shades of purple in fall.  Fragrant pink tinged white flowers are borne in profuse axillary clusters in mid-spring into early summer.  Grows best in partial sun and rich, moist acidic well-drained soils.  Leaves are highly toxic if ingested.  Dodd's Variegated is disease resistant.
