Yellow Flag Iris is a clumping marginal perennial that spreads with rhizomes.  the long sword-like grey-green foliage fans upwards.  Sturdy branching stalks that grow from the center of the plant are topped by bright yellow flowers with a darker yellow center that blooms from late spring into summer, attracting bees.  Grows best in standing water with full sun and rich, slightly acidic water-retentive soils.  An aggressive spreader.
