Jim Dandy Winterberry is a hardy deciduous shrub with an upright rounded habit and glossy dark green leaves an undistinguished purple fall color. As a male cultivar the white summer flowers will not produce fruit. Best planted in moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils. Acts as a pollinator for early-flowering varieties like Red Sprite.
