Golden Oakland Holly is a large dense evergreen shrub with a stiff upright pyramidal habit and distinctive brightly variegated spiny oak-shaped leaves. The foliage emerges rich gold and turns green from the center for an extended period creating a variegated effect before it fully matures to green. If pollinated, the lightly fragrant spring flowers will give way to berries. Best planted in moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.
