Hybrid Hellebore, Lenten Rose
Helleborus hybridus
Hybrid Hellebore are clumping, late winter-blooming perennials with a wider variety of bloom colors and usually sold by color rather than cultivar name. Hybrid Hellebore are evergreen with leathery deep green leaves. The long bloom season lasts for 8- 10 weeks with clusters of large nodding cup-shaped rose-like flowers with conspicuous yellow stamen from winter into spring. Best bloom in dappled sun and moist well-drained soils. Attracts butterflies and pollinators. All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
