Mount Airy Fothergilla is a dwarf deciduous shrub with a strong upright habit and profuse blooms. The leathery dark green foliage with blue-grey undersides turn various shades of yellow, orange, and red-purple in fall. The bottlebrush-like spikes densely packed with fragrant white flowers bloom through spring. Blooms best in rich, moist well-drained acidic soils.
Fothergilla is a native pollinator that provides nectar for several species of butterflies and bees.
