Miner's Merlot Euphorbia is a compact evergreen perennial that grows in a mound. Its upright whorls emerge wine red and mature to deep olive, then deepen to near black burgundy when the weather cools. Inflorescences of tiny lime green flowers bloom on burgundy stems from late spring into summer, attracting bees and butterflies. Best shape in full sun and dry, well-drained soils. Broken stems have a milky white sap that can cause significant skin irritation and is poisonous if ingested.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Wet soils, especially in winter, will kill the plant. Can tolerate shade, but will have clumping form. Use gloves when handling.
