Stargazer Dianthus is a compact mat-forming perennial with tidy dark green foliage and sturdy hairy stems that do not flop. The large heavily frilled white flowers with deep maroon eyes have a spicy fragrance and bloom first in late spring through summer and can continue to intermediately bloom to fall if deadheaded. Blooms best in full sun and slightly alkaline, moist, and well-drained soil.
