Redbor Ornamental Kale is a cool season annual with lobed, curling purple-red basal foliage with silver tones on purple stems.  The colors intensify to plum in winter.  Though ornamental Kale is normally grown for its colorful foliage rather than taste, Redbor has very tender foliage with a sweet, mild flavor.  The leaves have the best flavor after the first frost.  Best if grown in rich, consistently moist well-drained loamy soils.
