Lily of the Valley is a spreading herbaceous perennial with light green foliage.   One-sided raceme of nodding fragrant white flowers bloom on erect to slightly arching stems in spring followed by orange red berries in fall.  Grows best in dappled sun and moist well-drained rich soil.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  Stem rot, leaf spot, leaf blotch, and anthracnose may occur.  Watch for aphids and spider mites.  Spreads rapidly into dense colonies.  May struggle in hot and humid summers south of zone 7, where foliage will decline in hot summers.
