Evergreen Clematis is a showy evergreen climbing perennial vine with a cascading habit and long drooping dark green foliage.  The star shaped white flower clusters have a sweet vanilla fragrance and blooms on old wood in late winter into spring.  Prefers full sun and cool roots with moist, well-drained soil. Needs support.  NOTE: the leaves and sap are highly toxic to humans and pets if ingested.

Potential insect pests include aphids, vine weevils, slugs/snails, scale and earwigs. Watch for spider mites. If possible, plant the roots in the area with afternoon shade and climb the foliage into full sun for best results.  Can cause rashes on contact for some: handle with gloves.
