The Frans Fontaine Hornbeam is a tall, narrow, and columnar tree that can reach heights of up to 40 feet (12 meters) with a spread of about 20 feet (6 meters). It has a dense, upright growth habit, making it a great choice for narrow spaces or as a vertical accent in the landscape.
This tree is known for its attractive foliage, which emerges in spring as bright green and turns to a vibrant yellow in the fall. It also produces small, inconspicuous flowers in the spring, followed by small winged fruits.
The Frans Fontaine Hornbeam is relatively low-maintenance and adapts well to a variety of soil types. It prefers full sun to partial shade and regular watering, especially during dry periods
