Fox Valley River Birch is a dwarf fast-growing native deciduous tree with multiple trunks and irregular crown. It’s dark green leathery double-toothed leaves turn a respectable yellow in fall, and its attractive bark is an orange-brown that exfoliates at an early age a creamy soft brown interior in winter. Grows best in rich moist acidic soils. Fox Valley is one of the most disease-free birches. Extremely resistant to birch borer and good resistance to leaf spot.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance. It can take clay and poorly drained soils. Weakened birches are vulnerable to the bronze birch borer which can be fatal Some susceptibility to aphids, leaf miner and iron chlorosis in high pH soils.
LANDSCAPE USES: Specimen planting or Grove, Wetlands and ponds, Woodland Garden, Naturalized Areas, Native Garden, and Shade Tree.
