Little Lanterns Columbine is a compact native wildflower perennial with delicate medium green biternate foliage. Distinctive small drooping bright red bell-like flowers with white highlights bloom in spring attracting hummingbirds. Removing stems after flowering may encourage another bloom. Flowers best in filtered sun and rich well-drained soils. The canadensis species has good resistance to leaf miner.
