Giant Elephant Ears are huge bulb perennials grown for their massive foliage.  The thick wavy-edged leaves have prominent veining and can reach as long as 3-6ft. The greenish-white spathe and spadix bloom intermittently throughout the year.  Grows best in part sun with rich, moist to wet well-drained acidic soils.  The roots are edible.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:   Low maintenance plant.  Plants may burn in full sun, and in too much shade then petioles will weaken and will not be able to support the leaves.  Watch for spider mites, aphids, scale, and mealybugs.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, BordersWoodland Gardens, Wetlands, Foundation Plantings, Indoor Plants and Containers.
