Red Maple is a fast-growing deciduous tree with a rounded to ovate crown and green palmate foliage. The leaves, stems, and leafstalks emerge tinged with red, and the leaves return to red in fall. Inconspicuous spring flowers. Grows best in rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.
