Drummond Red Maple is a native fast growing deciduous tree with leathery palmate foliage that is lighter underneath with silvery hairs. The winter flowers are inconspicuous, but the long bright red samaras that appear before the foliage emerges in spring are attractive. Grows best in rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.
