Althea is a large woody perennial with a vase shaped habit, sturdy upright stems, and finely lobed dark green foliage. Huge flowers that come in a variety of shades, including blue, pink, white, and red, bloom throughout summer until the first frost attracting butterflies. Best bloom in full sun and moist well-drained soils.
