Genie Magnolia is a truly compact reblooming deciduous tree with a rounded habit and upright branches. Fuzzy blackish-red buds open to large velvety dark maroon-purple flowers with magenta tips in spring and can experience another bloom later in summer if the conditions are not too dry. Best color in full sun and moist, slightly-acidic, well-drained soil.
