Silver Mist Magnolia is a mid-sized evergreen tree with an upright conical habit and rich green foliage with silvery undersides that emerges light green. Its large sweetly lemon scented white flowers bloom in abundance from from late spring into summer. Best color in full sun and moist, slightly-acidic, well-drained soil. Tolerates both drought and wet soils.
Magnolia virginiana is a host plant for the Tiger, Spicebush, and Palamedes Swallowtail butterflies as well as the Sweetbay Silkmoth. The seeds, sap, and nectar of attracts pollinators and small mammals as well.
